KISHORE KUMAR



                                     KISHORE KUMAR, one of the best singers was born in INDIA and was a true legend. Born on 4th AUGUST 1929 in KHANDWA, Abhas Kumar Ganguly (now known as KISHORE KUMAR ) sang a lot of songs during his three decade long career. He worked as an actor, director, producer as well as singer. 
                         
                                      Kishore Kumar did not struggle a lot in his life as his elder brother ASHOK KUMAR was an influential person in film industry. In his career, he showed proficiency in a variety of musical styles. Furthermore he was able to pick up the piano and played it well  ”.  
                       
                                      According to the website http://chandrakantha.com/biodata/kishore_kumar.html ,” KISHORE KUMAR started his career as a chorus singer for BOMBAY TALKIES”. He got his first break in BIMAL ROY’S SHIKARI (1946). And then he started his career as a Music Director and composed his own songs. His first film as a Music Director was JHUMROO in 1961. He also acted in movies like ANDOLAN (1951) , NAUKARI (1954) , MUSAFIR (1957).
                                     In 1951,Kishore Kumar married his first wife RUMA GUHA THAKURTA. His wife gave birth to a boy named AMIT KUMAR on 3rd JULY 1952. Their marriage lasted till 1958 and then they got divorced. Today AMIT KUMAR is also a singer. The inner talents of Kishore Kumar as a playback  was first recognized by  Sachin Dev Burman. He started adapting unusual techniques for his singing.
                                    
                                   
                                      He started a new type of technique named yodeling. He sang many duets with ASHA BHOSALE as well as LATA MANGESHKAR. In 1961, Kishore Kumar married Mumtaz  Begum  Jehan Dehlavi (also known as Madhubala ). He also worked with her in several films like Chalti ka Naam Gaadi (1958). Later she was suffering from heart condition. And then she died on 23rd  February 1969.He aslo sang may hit songs during this decade like Gaata Rahe Mera Dil from "Guide" (1964), and Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechara from "Jewel Thief" (1967).
                                    
                                    
                                          He won a Filmfare Award for his song “  Roop Tera Mastana ” from the movie "Aradhana" in 1969. Later in 1976 he married YOGEETA BALI. And then they got divorced in 1978. He sung in total 327 duets with Lata Mangeshkar.
                                     
                            
                                According to the website http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0474822/bio - “ Kishore Kumar's best friends from the Hindi Film industry were Rahul Dev Burman and Rajesh Khanna. The trio together worked in 32 films. Kishore sang for Rajesh Khanna in a record of 91 films. The most number of films for which a singer has sung for a particular actor is 91 films, which was sung by Kishore for Superstar Rajesh Khanna”.
                                  
                                 
                                     He married his fourth wife i.e. movie actress Leena  Chandavarkar in 1980. She gave birth to his other son named  Sumeet  Kumar. His last recording was a playback song ,which was a duet with Asha Bhosle  for the movie  " Waqt Ki Aawaz" (1988). He unexpectedly passed on 13th October  1987 due to heart  failure.
